How to Run AI Prompts for Best Results

Everything you need to know about using structured prompts with free AI tools — even if you have never used ChatGPT or Claude before. This guide applies to every Operix product.

What Is a Prompt — And Why Does It Matter?

A prompt is a structured instruction you give to an AI tool. Think of it as a detailed brief — the more specific your instruction, the more useful the output.

Most people use AI by typing vague questions like "give me keywords for my Etsy shop." That produces vague, generic results — a random list with no context, no validation, and no strategy.

Operix prompts are different. They are structured instructions with context, role definitions, input variables, output format requirements, and quality filters built in. The AI is not guessing what you want. It is following a precise workflow.

Vague Prompt

What most people type

Give me keywords for my Etsy planner

Result: A generic list of 10 keywords with no context, no validation, no competition awareness. You get words — not a system.

Structured Prompt

What an Operix prompt looks like

Context: I sell minimalist daily planners as printable PDFs on Etsy. My target buyer is a working professional aged 25–40 who wants a simple, clean planning system. My shop has 12 reviews and 28 sales. Task: Generate 20 distinct buyer search intents balanced across Discovery, Consideration, and Purchase stages... Output Format: Table with columns for Search Intent, Buyer Goal, Journey Stage...

Result: 20 validated search intents organized by buyer journey stage, with buyer goals and strategic context — ready for the next step.

ChatGPT or Claude — Which Should You Use?

Both work. Both are free. Pick either one — you do not need both.

ChatGPT

chat.openai.com

The most popular AI tool. Familiar interface. Create a free account with your email — no credit card needed. Works with every Operix prompt.

Claude

claude.ai

Excellent at following structured instructions. Clean, focused interface. Create a free account with your email. Works with every Operix prompt.

Important

You do NOT need ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro, or any paid AI subscription. Free versions work with every Operix prompt.

Setup takes 2 minutes: visit the website → create a free account → you are ready.

How to Run Any Operix Prompt — 6 Steps

This same process applies to every prompt in every Operix product. Learn it once, use it forever.

1

Start a New Conversation

Every prompt should be run in a fresh, blank AI conversation — not continued from a previous chat. This ensures the AI has no conflicting context from earlier messages.

ChatGPT: click "New Chat" · Claude: click "New Conversation"
2

Read the Prompt Page in Your Guide

Before copying anything, read the "What This Prompt Does" and "Before You Run" sections. These tell you what the prompt produces and what inputs you need to prepare.

3

Fill In Your Inputs

Every prompt has an input table with fields like Product Type, Niche Category, or Target Buyer. Fill in your actual information — do not use the examples. Vague inputs produce vague results.

Tip: More detail = better output. "Printable planner" is vague. "Minimalist daily planner printable PDF for working professionals" is specific.
4

Copy the Full Prompt

Copy the entire prompt text from the prompt box (or Editable Prompt File). Replace all [INSERT] placeholders with your inputs. Do not skip sections or modify the structure.

5

Paste and Send

Paste the complete prompt into your AI tool and press Enter. Wait for the full output — do not interrupt, switch tabs, or navigate away while it is generating.

If the output cuts off: type "continue" or "please complete the output" in the same conversation.
6

Check the Output Quality

Compare your output against the Output Quality Check on the prompt page. If it passes, save it in your template. If not, follow the Common Issues and Fixes table before re-running.

10 Rules That Produce Better AI Output Every Time

1

Always start a new conversation.

AI tools carry context from previous messages. Old context contaminates new prompts. Fresh conversation = clean results.

2

Copy the FULL prompt — do not edit or shorten it.

Every sentence serves a purpose — context, constraints, quality filters, or output formatting. Removing sections removes safeguards.

3

Replace every [INSERT] placeholder.

If a prompt says [INSERT YOUR PRODUCT TYPE], type your actual product type. Leaving placeholders produces generic output.

4

Do not combine multiple prompts.

Each prompt does one thing well. Running two together confuses the AI and degrades both outputs. One prompt per conversation.

5

Wait for the complete output.

AI tools sometimes take 30–60 seconds for long responses. Do not scroll away, switch tabs, or close the browser.

6

Run prompts in sequential order.

Each output feeds the next. Skipping or reordering creates gaps that compound downstream. Follow the sequence.

7

If the output looks wrong, check your inputs first.

90% of poor outputs come from vague inputs — not broken prompts. Add more specificity before re-running.

8

Use the Common Issues and Fixes table.

Every prompt includes tested fixes: "If this happens → Type this." Use them before contacting support.

9

Save your output immediately.

After each prompt, copy the output into your working template. AI conversations can be lost. Save as you go.

10

Do not rewrite the AI's output manually.

The system is designed so outputs feed directly into the next prompt. Manual edits can break downstream prompts.

Common Questions About Using AI Prompts

Both tools have privacy policies. For free accounts, conversations may be used to improve the model. If privacy is a concern, both platforms offer opt-out settings. The data you enter — product type, niche, keywords — is general business information, not sensitive personal data.

AI outputs vary between runs — this is normal. What matters is that your output matches the structure and format shown in the sample, not the exact words. Check the Output Quality Check criteria.

Yes. If unsatisfied, open a new conversation and re-run. Adjusting your inputs — adding more detail — often produces better results on the second attempt.

Free accounts have output length limits. Type "continue" or "please complete the output" in the same conversation. The AI will resume from where it stopped.

Operix prompts are designed for ChatGPT and Claude. Other tools (Gemini, Copilot) may work but are not officially supported. If results seem off, switch to ChatGPT or Claude.

No. Operix prompts are pre-built and ready to use. You fill in your product info, copy the prompt, paste it. No technical knowledge required.

Start a new conversation, correct the input, re-run. There is no penalty. The AI does not remember previous conversations when you start fresh.

Every prompt ends with a "You're Done When" checklist. If your output meets all criteria, save it and proceed. If not, use the troubleshooting table first.

Your First Prompt — A Complete Walkthrough

Here is what running Prompt 1 of the Etsy Keyword Research System looks like in practice.

1

Open your AI tool and start a new conversation

Go to chat.openai.com or claude.ai. Log in. Click "New Chat" or "New Conversation." You should see a blank message box.

2

Read the Prompt 1 page in your guide

Open the system PDF to Prompt 1. Read "What This Prompt Does" — it maps 20 buyer search intents. Read "Before You Run" — it lists the inputs you need.

3

Fill in your inputs

The input table asks for Product Type, Niche Category, Target Buyer, and Primary Use Case. Here is an example:

Product Type: Minimalist daily planner printable PDF
Niche Category: Planners & Organizers
Target Buyer: Working professionals aged 25–40 who want a simple, distraction-free planning system they can print at home
Primary Use Case: Daily schedule planning and task management
4

Copy the prompt and replace placeholders

Open the Editable Prompt File. Find Prompt 1. Copy the entire text. Replace every [INSERT] field with your actual inputs.

5

Paste into your AI tool and send

Paste the complete prompt into the message box. Press Enter. The AI will generate a table with 20 buyer search intents. Wait 20–40 seconds for the full output.

6

Check quality and save your output

Verify: 20 rows, each with a search intent, buyer goal, and journey stage. Balanced across Discovery, Consideration, and Purchase. If it passes — copy into Section 2 of your template. Done.

That is the complete process. Every prompt follows these same 6 steps — only the inputs and outputs change.
